How Do I Check My SASSA Status 2023?

Payment Via Bank Account
Receiving payments via your bank account is probably the most convenient payment method and fastest way to receive the grant, it also means you can avoid queuing in person at the Post Office. The amounts for each month will be paid into the bank account of the beneficiary as per the grant application.
Please note that the bank details or cellular phone number provided for payment MUST be registered in the name of the approved applicant used in the Covid-19 R350 grant application process to make sure that payment goes to the correct recipients.
If you don’t have any banking details, individuals can collect your grant cash from the Post Office branches (SAPO/Post Bank), Pick-N-Pay or Boxer stores. Or alternatively a Bank Mobile Money Transfer (cash send option). How Do You Check SRD R350 SASSA Status Has Approved You?

Why Is My SASSA Status Check Pending?

Payments for the new cycle of the special COVID-19 SRD grant (from April 2022) will be paid as from mid-June 2022.
SASSA will continue clearing outstanding payments from the previous cycle as and when the bank details are confirmed. The payments will not be done together, but will be done month by month. More than one payment may be made in a month, but no one will receive double payments in amount. SASSA will do these multiple payments in a month until the backlog is finalized, where after monthly payments will resume.

Why Is My Sassa R350 Approved But No Payday?
There could be a number of reasons why your sassa status check has been approved but you have not yet received payment. Those approved but not yet paid will often be those whose records are outstanding bank accounts, or bank accounts provided failed bank account verification or bank accounts pending verification from National Treasury or those who selected Cash send payments. There have been on-going complications with some banks and bank accounts which continue to be worked on and improved.

On the 9th September SASSA announced that individuals are no longer required to reconfirm their grants every three months. Lot’s of people were not a fan of this protocol. When Will The SASSA R350 Grant End?
The finance minister announced that the social grant would be extended until March 2024. This announcement was by the department of Treasury in the Medium-Term Budget Policy statement held in October 2022.
